Meet Chamara Chandimal

I am Chamara — the instructor and the person behind Bantiya. I built this platform because I know first-hand how hard it is to arrive in Korea without clear guidance. My goal is to make sure no Sri Lankan has to figure it out alone.
My Story
I arrived in South Korea over twelve years ago and have been working, studying, and serving the community ever since. Today I work full-time at Hyunseongsa Company in Bongdong, hold a TOPIK Level 6 certificate, and serve as a Korean–Sinhala interpreter in legal and emergency contexts — including as a volunteer interpreter for Jeonbuk 119 Emergency Services. I am also pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration at Woosuk University.
I started Bantiya because I kept seeing the same struggles: people arriving without knowing the language, spending thousands on agents for information that should be free, and feeling isolated in a country that can be hard to navigate alone. My courses are designed to be direct and practical — focused on real Korean you will actually use, not textbook theory.
